Vicki's Domino Leaf
April showers bring…leaves! These leaves use the domino knitting method: cast on an odd number of stitches and use a central double decrease every other row until 1 stitch is left. A variegated thread/yarn will show off the angles made by the double decreases but a solid color can be just as attractive. These leaves can be sewn to larger items or used as accents on key-rings, handles, etc.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, slip, kf&b, k2tog, central double decrease (S2KP2) and fasten off. Optional stem requires I-cord skill.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread and needle size will work. Leaves can be blocked straight or curved. Make a swatch to check for size and appearance.
4 yards of #8 pearl cotton will make one leaf E with stem in the stated gauge.
