Waffle Work Sock Scarf
Welcome and thank you for viewing my pattern!
Who doesn’t just love the comforting clear lines of a waffle pattern combined with a work sock look! Perfect for those cozy nights around the fire after skiing, sleigh riding, or sledding. We do a nighttime heavy horse drawn, old fashioned sleigh ride in the powdery snow every year between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Part way through, we glide to a stop at the crackling fire to feed the horses some treats and drink steaming cups of cocoa. It is just magical and always makes me think of the stories of Narnia.
I am very excited to see what you are inspired to
create from this pattern and the colors you chose! I think it would look fabulous in black or navy in place or the grey, or even a neon pink. You can absolutely sell any finished scarves made using this pattern in person or online.
You can use any color your heart desires for this lovely Scarf / Infinity Cowl – you are only limited by your imagination!
It is done in Aran weight wool. If you wish to substitute yarn, I find YarnSub.com super helpful!
This Scarf is worked flat in back and forth rows but can be joined at the end to form an infinity cowl.
Directions are for Adult or Teen/ Average. Measurement - Pattern is written for the 65” scarf/ Infinity cowl.
I use chainless stitches instead of Ch2 or Ch3 turning chains. For me, they just make a cleaner edges and stitches. So instead of “chaining up”, I jump right into the first stitch. This pattern is written without the specification of chainless stitches. The first stitch of every new row is chainless, unless otherwise noted. You can use ch2 or three in place of the 1st st, if you are more comfortable. There are many YouTube Video Tutorials for Chainless stitches if you are interested in making them.
Intermediate to Adventurous Beginner as this pattern uses Front Post and Back Post Stitches, and Herringbone Half Double st. Herringbone st can be substituted with a Hdc.
