The floats become the star, mimicking a woven pattern in this button-up cardigan with stranded diamond motif.

This jacket is worked in separate pieces from the lower edge to the shoulders and sewn together. The fronts are worked in stranded colourwork, with the strands carried across the RS of the work. Fully fashioned shoulder shaping is worked on the back only, so the shoudler seams wrap over the shoulder. The waist is shaped and the jacket has set-in sleeves.

#sizeinclusive to a 64 ½“ / 164 cm finished chest measurement.

This knitting pattern includes written directions, front and back images, colourwork chart, and a schematic with measurements.

Substitution Notes
The specified yarn is a rustic, woolly 2-ply yarn. Suitable replacements are lofty, traditional wools to aid with the stranded colourwork. A smoother, multi-plied wool or wool blend would also work, but steer clear of superwash wools.

Techniques
Increases/decreases, cabled decreases (optional), working simple stranded colourwork from chart, basic set-in sleeve sweater construction, English tailored shoulders, worked flat, bottom up, seamed, picking up stitches, encased front bands, buttonholes and sewing on buttons.
