The Wheel of Spring Pillow is made vertically, flat, in one piece. Repeating panels are connected as you go and sewn with one seam with a tapestry needle at the end of the work.
The stitch pattern is created using short rows and slip-stitch variations.
The pillow consists of five panels that make a perfect round shape.
Language: English.
Crochet level: Upper intermediate. The key to success is to keep counting stitches in the current row and the remaining stitches in the row below. Always compare your work with the given pictures or follow video tutorials linked in the header. The pictures show the work in progress as it looks on the right side.
You need to know how to work: slip stitch, yarn over slip stitch, be ready to learn some slip stitch modifications that create the stitch pattern, and follow the instructions carefully.
Inside:
• 14 pages of the pattern contain charts, written instructions, step-by-step photo tutorials, and mute detailed video tutorials with English karaoke-style subtitles, including a leftie-friendly mirrored video tutorial. Convenient navigation inside the pattern.
General Information:
- Yarn: Bulky or super bulky 80 – 140 m per 100 g, approximately 200 - 450 g. Choose solid colors or variegated yarns with soft, non-contrast color changes to avoid obscuring the stitch pattern. Z-twist yarns will give a different stitch definition; not all can be recommended.
- Crochet hook size 5.5 - 9 mm.
- Tapestry needle for seaming and weaving in.
- 9 locking stitch markers.
- A round pillow insert should be prepared according to the finished size. The diameter of the flat Insert is the same or a little bigger than your flat pillow. Be careful with the level of stuffing. Overstuffed can obscure the stitch pattern, or too loose won`t keep the shape.
Main steps
• Following the instructions, work the pillowcase.
• Blocking (wash and let dry flat) is optional.
• According to the finished measurements, prepare the pillow insert.
• Sew the edges halfway through, insert the pillow insert and complete the seam.
• Enjoy and be proud of yourself! And don’t forget to show off
