Why Knot?
Why Knot? is the first design in my Macramé Collection, a series of lightweight, warmer-weather designs inspired by the shapes and textures of macramé art.
Why Knot? is a lightweight, drapey tee featuring lateral braids, dropped stitch textures and seed stitch pattern, combined to create an airy addition to your warmer weather wardrobe.
CONSTRUCTION
This garment is worked top-down, in the round. Open textures are created throughout most of the yoke using Lateral Braids, yarn overs, dropped stitches and a seed stitch pattern. Once the yoke is completed, stitches are separated into body and sleeves, both of which are also worked top-down, in the round. The body starts by working short row shaping into the back of the tee, with the short row turns hidden along the underarm cast on stitches. The body is worked in stockinette, with a textured waistband that follows the same patterns as the yoke. The sleeves are short and worked in the same style as the body: stockinette followed by a textured knit cuff.
SAMPLE
The wearer is 5’10” / 178cm with a 37” / 92.5cm chest circumference. The sample has been worked in size L, giving the wearer 8.75” / 22cm of positive ease at the chest.
