Wild Magic Mitts
Wild Magic was designed for you to have fun with mini-skeins or stash bust those leftover balls of fingering weight yarn. The magic in the pattern is that you can also use as many as eleven colorways or as few as two!

The Wild Magic mitts are worked in the round with stranded knitting, using either long circular needles to work in Magic Loop or DPNs. This pattern is recommended for knitters who have experience with stranded colorwork, knitting in the round, and reading charts.
Yarn
One skein of Lattes & Llamas Vacation Yarn (100 grams/ 438 yards) and one Mini Vacation Yarn Set or a comparable fingering weight yarn in two to eleven contrasting colorways.
To work the pattern as pictured you will need:
MC: 35 grams/ 154 yards
CC1: 5 grams/ 22 yards
CC2: 6 grams/ 27 yards
CC3: 7 grams/ 31 yards
CC4: 8 grams/ 35 yards
CC5: 6 grams/ 22 yards
To work the pattern with two colorways:
MC: 35 grams/ 154 yards
CC: 32 grams/ 140 yards
Instructions are included in the pattern to tell you when to change colors if you are using multiple Main Colors and/or multiple Complementing Colorways.
Needles
US1 / 2.25 mm to work in Magic Loop or size needed to obtain gauge.
I prefer the Magic Loop method when knitting mitts. If you are more comfortable using DPNs or two circulars, this pattern is easily converted.
Gauge
32 sts and 38 rnds = 4” in stranded colorwork, knit in the round and blocked.
Adjusting the gauge listed above or the pattern will alter the size of your mitts and change the yardage requirements.
Finished Size
One Size: 6.75 inches long and 8 inches in circumference after blocking.
Instructions are included to modify the size of your mitts by going up or down a needle size.
