This pattern is for a planter created from a discarded Tetrapak type carton and any DK cotton yarn. The listing here indicates the yarns used in the example but any soft cotton DK yarn should work. It includes instructions in English in both UK and US terminology on separate pages for easy printing.
Requirements
- 2 colours of cotton dk yarn (approx. 20-25g of each should be enough)
- 3.25mm hook (D)
- Scissors and yarn needle
- Square based Tetrapak type carton. I used an Oatly carton which measures 7.2cm or 2 7/8 inch (you could adjust yarn and hook size or add rounds to adjust for different sized cartons).
Notes
The hook size is on the small side for the DK yarn so it can feel a little tight when working some stitches. The individual blocks may not look square or flat until completed and eased into shape but should then stay square.
An updated version of the pattern pdf was published on 15th August 2021 to correct errors in R1 and R2
