The Acoma Collection of three shawls and three cowls is inspired by the beautiful Acoma pottery. Each design is named for one of the spelling variations of ‘Acoma’. Techniques include intarsia, slipped stitches and stranded colorwork.
Yacco
A triangular, symmetrical shawl with short row wedges and tuxedo flap borders. It is worked as a typical top-down triangle, without a garter stitch tab. After the body of the shawl is completed, short-row sections and flaps are added to each side, worked from charts or written instructions. This design is one size and is suitable for fingering to worsted weight yarns. Thicker yarns will result in a larger shawl. Remember to adjust yardage for different yarns. The final size will vary according to individual tension and yarn brand.
