The sixth sock pattern in our Sock of the Month “Space Series”!
Worked on two circular needles, this striking sock sports inverted staghorn cables flanked by handsome columns of eyelets. With ample gussets and a basic turned heel, the remarkably traditional construction is perfect for the first time toe-up sock knitter!
Finished Size: Women’s Small 7” circumference (Women’s Medium 8”, Women’s Large 9”)
Gauge: 30st/4” in Stockinette Stitch
Needles: (2) US 2 (2.75mm) Circular needles 16” (20”, 24”) in length or needles to obtain gauge
Hook: US C (3.00mm) to cast on
Materials: Claudia Hand Paints’ Addiction (100% Merino Wool: 175yds/50g)
Yardage: Approximately 320 (330, 350) yards (2-3 skeins)
Skill Level: Intermediate

Start of working only needle 1 and working flat: Then, working with needle 1 only and working flat, k16 (16, 18), then, working the center 16 (18, 18) sts only, k16 (16, 18) turn.
After row 15: You should have 16 (16, 18) unworked sts, 28 (30, 32) turned heel sts and another 16 (16, 18) unworked heel sts on needle 1. There should be a total of 60 (62, 68) sts on needle 2.
