This pattern was first published in Simply Knitting December 2006 issue under the name ‘Country Living’, this is a warm zipped jacket worked in Aran/10ply weight yarn. It has a centre front zip and textured pattern over body. The sleeves are worked in single rib.
NOTE: the yarn used for this garment comes in the large 400g size balls. For the 1st size sample garment I used 500g which is about 1050 metres.
SIZES
To fit bust: 75 85 95 105 cm
Actual bust: 83.5 96.5 110 122 cm
Sleeve seam: 41 42 43 44 cm
Back Length: 60 64 66 69 cm
YARN
2(2:3:3) x 400g balls of Sirdar Aran with Wool in ‘Glen Coe’ shade 929, (840m per ball) To substitute use correct length of yarn with a knit tension of 18 sts and 24 rows to 10 cm square worked over stocking stitch on no 5mm needles (UK/Canada/Australia no.6/US8).
Pair of 5 mm needles. (UK/Canada/Australia no.6/US8)
1 x 66(71:71:76) cm open–ended zip.
Matching sewing thread and needle.
