The collection includes five sweaters and two hats inspired by knitting traditions from: Shetland, Denmark, Norway, Estonia and Lithuania.
Following the success of the European Collection Part 1, I have developed more designs inspired by the historical techniques, motifs, patterns and traditions of other regions on the European continent. These patterns do not aim to duplicate the historical designs, but rather are inspired by the motifs and techniques of these countries. The patterns are all worked in my favourite method – circular knitting in the round, and in the case of the sweaters, from the top down.
Texture and colourwork; braids, travelling stitches, bold colours and geometrical forms that are both striking to wear and enjoyable to knit; there is much fun to be had, and heaps to be learnt from these regions.
