THE FRISIAN COLLECTION is a collective design project. Two designers, Bo from the Netherlands and Tiiti from Finland, decided to cooperate on a minimalist capsule collection because they are friends and share a love of design.
“Bo asked me whether I’d like to collaborate with her on a minimalist collection. We share the same design esthetics, so I thought it should be fun. Well, it was. We started throwing ideas about, finally settling on a well culled wardrobe - only consisting of pieces we would wear ourselves … “ says Tiiti. ”I absolutely love the pieces we have created. Bo has amazing ideas, she is firmly rooted in her minimalism. I seem to have a certain fondness for elaborate details and I wanted fully reversible garments. The Franeker cardigan can be worn reversed, if certain aspects of the pockets are ignored“ - but that only adds to its grungy charm.
Bo says “I like d the idea of designing according to a set of principles, because it helps you decide what to include or not. I love a neutral palette and beautiful yarns, so that the subtle details speak for themselves. All the garments in this capsule collection can be combined or worn on top of each other, according to weather or personal taste. And they’re very easily combinable with your existing wardrobe because the details are so understated. ”I love what we’ve done – a thousand miles apart, and yet we’ve created pieces that work with each other. The Ylst poncho looks different with every movement, highlighting now the purls, then the knits.“
