Fårö – Gotland wool with Falkland Merino

Fårö is our own single-ply yarn, spun from soft Gotland wool mixed with fine merino wool from the Falkland Islands. A living yarn that only gets softer and more beautiful with time. The yarn is spun on older machines at Hjeholts in Denmark. The smooth Gotland wool cannot be spun on modern machines.

We recommend knitting needles no. 5 for most models, which gives airy, light garments with a mohair-like surface. The yarn works great together with a thin guide thread for extra effect or structure.

The natural shades Grey, Graphite Grey and Natural White are undyed. Other colors are dyed into the grey yarn and therefore get a beautifully melange tone, which gives a lively and characteristic expression in the knitted garment.

Please note that Natural White differs slightly in composition, since the wool of the Gotland sheep naturally varies in color from light grey to black.
