his is a pattern for a true alpine cabled shawl (as opposed to Aran cabling, which is the more familiar way of cabling). The knit stitches are knit primarily through the back loop, and although the shawl is not reversible, it is cabled on both sides. The cables are interspersed with lace. The combination of the Alpine Cables and lace makes for an usual and beautiful shawl.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a good working knowledge of knitting, purling and a very good knowledge of cabling)

The pattern is both written out and charted. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you like on.

The shawl was expertly test knitted by ktbowen18@msn.com and was knit with Handmaiden/Fleece Artist’s Eden’s DK weight yarn.

The pattern is for sale right here on Ravelry or in my Etsy Shop in the Int - Advanced Shawl Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=…)
