Gumdrop Forest was created to show off the beautiful color variations of Darn Good Yarn’s Sport Weight Twist Silk Yarn. Create a forest to display through the holidays, as a year-round display, or as an adorable kid’s room decoration!

Gumdrop Forest is knit in bright colors, but can easily be adapted to your own palette. The little trees are knit in the round from tip to bottom and are designed to have a stick or small dowel stuck into a hole at the bottom to help them stand up. The trees come in nine different sizes with three Stout Trees (S, M, L), three Regular Trees (S, M, L), and three Thin Trees (S, M, L). Create as many as you want, and in as many size varieties as you’d like, then find your favorite way to display them.

Gauge: 28 stitches x 34 rounds = 4”(10cm) in stockinette
Exact gauge is not vital to the finished design, but it will affect the size of trees and the yardage required.

Needles: US 2 (2.75 mm) 32” or longer cable needle OR US 2 (2.75 mm) DPNs, and one US 6 double pointed needle for the three needle bind off
