The Ivy crochet beret is a new view of the Ivy stitch pattern.
The panel is restructured to form a definite beret shape and some stitches are revised. There are three stitch heights, as my continuous attempt to avoid restrictions of certain gauge tension and maintain your freedom of yarn and hook choice.
The Ivy crochet beret is made vertically, flat, in one piece. Repeating panels are connected as you go. The Ivy stitch pattern is created using short rows and slip stitch variations smoothly integrated into the ribbing. Connected with a single stitch with a tapestry needle at the end of your work.
You can create a summer beret or winter accessory with a yarn meterage from 80 m to 380 m per 100 g, customized to your head size.
The diameter of the beret plateau will depend on your yarn choice and crochet hook size.

1. Yarn: choose any yarn suitable for a 3.25 mm – 5.5 mm crochet hook.
Solid colours, tweeds, hand-dyed yarns. Variegated yarns will obscure the stitch pattern but can add other interesting effects. Z twist yarns are not recommended for this kind of stitching.
2. Tapestry needle for the connecting stitch and weaving in.
