This is a listing for a knit stole pattern that features two stitches that come to us from The Shetland Islands. The focal stitch is an unusual one, and a bit challenging. The edging stitch is attached in the traditional Shetland manner. Both stitches are interesting and fun to knit. Together they make a beautiful shawl. Lace knitters will enjoy making this shawl and love showing it off. The drape of this particular yarn is fantastic, and is hard to photograph.

Skill Level: Intermediate + - Advanced (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The two stitches are both charted

The wrap was expertly pattern tested by Shawn Sweeny, who can be contacted at: scsween99@hotmail.com. The yarn used in the sample is Lorna’s Laces Soulmate, in colorway, Lava Flow and requires under three skeins to knit on a size U.S. #5 (3.75mm) needle.
