elann was founded in British Columbia, Canada in 1993, as a North American mail order yarn retailer, and in 1997 our first website was launched. Our mission was simple - to offer yarns that customers would love, at prices they’d adore. We were also pleased to offer patterns to support the yarns we offered and to showcase the designers who used them.

After 28 happy years, on February 28, 2021, we closed the elann website, as part of our decision to retire. We thank our many customers for their loyalty and support.
