I love knitting with natural fibres, mostly minimally-processed, no-pill wool. I started knitting after learning to spin in 2005, mostly to use up the yarn I was making, and quickly fell deeply in love with it. Since then, I’ve worked in a number of yarn shops and love teaching knitting and natural dyeing.

This year, my husband and I packed up our little house in Australia and headed overseas in search of new horizons… We are currently based in Glasgow, Scotland, and I’m soaking up the local knitting culture and am excited to be teaching for some amazing women running their own yarn shops: Fluph, Ginger Twist and Queen of Purls. I was also lucky enough to attend and teach at Shetland Wool Week and look forward to returning again in 2016.

Working on a vintage knitting machine allows my hands to keep up with my eyes when it comes to yarn and patterns. It’s great for never-ending stocking stitch, presents and experimenting. I’ll never stop handknitting though!

I also make knitting tool pouches from old tweed jackets and industry waste fabric and a small number of colourwork accessories in sturdy, lambswool 3ply on my machine- you can find them in my shop.
