I have been involved in various fibercrafts dating back to learning to crochet and sew in elementry school, teaching myself to knit in high school from a ‘LeisureArts’ colorwork sweater pattern and an all-in-one needlecraft book from my mom’s bookcase.
Years later, I picked up knitting again while commuting by bus, making projects without patterns and had coworkers and friends begin asking me to teach them how to make the same projects. This lead into learning how to properly write patterns and able to describe to others both the basics of knitting as well as the actual design instructions. Having the opportunity to work for a few years in an LYS kicked off my knitting, designing and teaching to be a daily thing.
