Hi! My name is Angela. My friends call me Ange. I’m the owner/operator of The Spicy Ginger & Company. I love to knit and crochet, dye yarn, take out internet dragons, learn about random things, play with color, and be a mom. I have two teenaged boys who are homeschooled and are probably sick of fiber by now, but are willing to help me out from time to time…and remind me that people get paid for that sort of thing (as typical teenagers would). I have an amazing husband who supports my crazy and reminds me that sleep is a thing normal people do.

I started crocheting when I was 6, thanks to a very patient aunt who showed me the ropes. Many years later while on bedrest during my pregnancy with the oldest boy, I decided to learn to knit. My grandmother had given me some needles as she couldn’t knit anymore, and I’d always been fascinated by the art. After borrowing every book the library had to offer, I was on my way…and never looked back. Today, I expand my skills by writing patterns for others, as I feel the best way to teach is be teachable. It’s pushed me to new horizons that I never thought I’d achieve, and I love being able to share those skills with others. That’s why I started this blog. To share in the skills and knowledge I’ve gathered over the mutters years I’ve been making so others can have a boost in their craft.

My newest passion is dyeing yarn. Playing with color is such a magical thing. Being able to take what inspires me, be it nature or humanity, and turn it into a colorway which can inspire someone else to make something beautiful is so very satisfying.
