Pattern description from Knit Simple, Fall 2006: “As crisp as autumn, this shaped cardi’s got a two-sided allover cable pattern with one raised column down each sleeve. Knit the garter-stitch button band as you go; work the matching collar separately.”

Knit Tip: “Make the sleeves first - you’ll familiarize yourself with the twist action and get a great gauge check to boot.”

Materials:

  • Worsted Hand Dyes by Blue Sky Alpacas, 3½oz/100g hanks, each approx 109yd/100m (alpaca/merino)
  • 9 (10, 11, 12, 13) hanks in #2010 rust
  • One pair each sizes 7 and 9 (4.5 and 5.5 mm) needles or size to obtain gauge
  • Cable needle, five 1¼“ (32 mm) buttons, stitch holders and stitch markers.
