Pattern description from Knit.1, Winter 2007/2008: “Folkie seriousness gets a little loopy in a granny-square patchwork skirt by Mari Lynn Patrick. The same basic granny in different sizes and color schemes is hooked separately in Lion Brand Yarn’s ‘Vanna’s Choice.’ The A-line silhouette comes from a strategic arrangement of diamonds, squares and triangles (call them half-squares) with filler stitches completing the wedges.”

• 6 balls in #110 Navy of Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand yarn, 3½oz/100g balls, each approx 170yd/156m (acrylic)
• 1 ball each in #99 Linen, #109 Colonial Blue, #130 Honey, #170 Pea Green, #174 Olive, #133 Brick and #158 Mustard
• One size H/8 (J/10)/5 (6)mm crochet hook or size to get the gauge
• 1yd/1m of ½“/13mm wide elastic

Gauge

• Square 1, using size H/8 (5mm( hook, measures 4.25”/10.5cm square and 5.75”/14.5cm over the diagonal. (size medium)
• Square 1, using size J/10 (6mm) hook measures 5”/12.5cm square and 6.5”/16.5cm across the diagonal. (size large)
