Nicky Epstein has always had a penchant for the whimsical and an innate love of nature, and this sweater is a marriage of the two. In her designs, she loves to mix yarn, stitches and embroidery to create
a range of texture and depth.

The wooded landscape is created in layers: The background is stockinette and seed stitch, with colorblocking and striping worked in various yarns (the sweater utilizes six in total, all from Plymouth Yarn). The sleeves and generous turtleneck are a simple p3, k2 ribbing. The next layer is the trees and woodland creatures, which are knit separately before being appliquéd to the back and front. The final flourish is a variety of embroidery stitches to adorn the forest wonderland.
