Pattern description from Knit Simple, Fall 2006: “Stripes get tall, not wide, in this garter-ridge top, worked vertically from side to side and sewn at the center, leaving a V-neck opening.”

Knit Tip: “Once the main piece is ready to wear, pick up stitches at the hem for the deep hip ribbing.”

Materials:

  • La Luz by Fiesta Yarns, 2oz/57g balls, each approx 220yd/201m (silk)
  • 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) balls in #LL18 wild iris (A)
  • La Boheme by Fiesta Yarns, 4oz/113g balls, each approx 165yd/151m (mohair/rayon/nylon)
  • 2 (2, 3, 3, 3) balls in jamaican spice (B)
  • Size 9 (5.5mm) circular needle, 24”/60cm long or size to obtain gauge
  • Size H/8 (5mm) crochet hook and stitch marker.

Notes:

  1. Front and back of each side are worked in one piece from side seam to center seam.
  2. use 2 strands of A held tog when working bottom band.
  3. Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of sts.
