12 Lovely Leaves
This design was inspired by Motif 37 of Hewitt and Daley’s “Motifs, Borders and Trims in Classic Knitted Cotton”. I added curved stems and made smaller side leaves. The leaves are made with simple increases and decreases. The plain background and symmetrical leaves help make this design doable.
4 triangles are sewn into a square. Squares are sewn together to make a table runner, baby blanket or bedspread, etc.
Any block-able thread or yarn and needle size can be used for this project. Triangle and square sizes will vary accordingly. Block and measure your first triangle to determine size.
#10 crochet thread and #1 U.S. (2.25mm) needles make about a 3.5” triangle (measured on a short side) when knit to gauge.
