Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Fall 2008: “This bag, an unexpected tour de force knit circularly in Tradewind Knits’ ‘Celestial Blue Faced Aran’ and felted, is ‘an exploration of playing with snowflakes, the way I did as a child, when I cut them out of paper and arranged the patterns,’ says Lucy Neatby, the brains behind Tradewinds Knitwear Designs. Neatby moved from Great Britain to Halifax many years ago, and her adopted climate has a hand in her work. ‘It’s definitely an influence of living in Canada; I love the winter and adore snow. This snowflake is arranged as a decreasing mirror image.’ The double-knit strap, worked and felted separately, then attached, reflects Neatby’s desire to ‘convert the world’ to this particular technique, one of her favorites.”

“Felted stranded bag with double-knit strap. Shown on page 90.”
