#14 Stairstep Wrap
A combination of intarsia and basketweave stitch are used together to create this capelet, which is knit side to side. The garter stitch blocks and the stockinette stitch blocks are knitted in two different yarns to enhance the woven effect of the basketweave stitch. Further textural interest is created by using a ribbon yarn and a mohair based yarn. Another interesting detail is the stepped edge of the capelet. Stitches are picked up along the top edge and knitted in ribbing to keep the capelet in place. It is finished off with a button for closure.
