Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, winter 2007/07: “Shawl knitters already have the construction of Vladimir Teriokhin’s cropped cardi down pat. Knit from cuff to center back and grafted up the middle, the wide-sleeved piece has an allover cabled texture and knitted-on ribbed mock turtleneck and button bands. The glorious shading happens automatically with the self-striping ‘Silk Garden’ by Noro/KFI.”
“Standard-fitting cabled shrug in cable and seed stitch patterns with stand-up ribbed collar Sized for one size, sizes Small-Large and shown on page 80.”
Knitted Measurements:
- Length from sleeve cuff to center back neck 29”/73.5 cm
- Width around lower edge (closed) 20”/51 cm
- Upper arm 22”/56 cm
Materials:
- 10 1¾oz/50g balls (each approx 122yd/112m) of Noro/KFI Silk Garden (silk/mohair/lambswool) in #255 desert mix
- One pair size 8 (5mm) needles or size to obtain gauge
- Cable needle, stitch markers
- Six size 1”/25mm buttons.
