#15 Fall Blooms
Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Fall 2008: “’Keeping warm in an 1860s Ontario farmhouse can be a challenge. As a crafty gal, doing it in a stylish and knitterly way is a wonderful design challenge,’ says Kandis, founder and designer of Mission Falls yarn and author of Folk Style (Interweave). ‘Slipper socks and mukluks are de rigueur when tromping about our ‘original’ - read as draft-emanating - wood floors.’ In that context and so many others, her intarsia Fall Bloom mukluks, worked flat with toe shaping in Mission Falls’ ‘1824 Wool,’ do the trick. ‘The fanciful intarsia flowers on the foot cozies not only keep memories of my summer garden alive through the snow and cold, but, come March, enliven my anticipation for real may flowers.”
“Worsted weight socks worked flat with intarsia and embroidery floral motifs.”
