Pattern description from Knit.1, Summer 2007: “One girl’s trash bad is another’s treasure. This petite purse is knit from strips of Hefty Ultra Flex 30-gallon trash bags. Work pieces of the blue drawstrings into the bag randomly; use the drawstrings to attach store-bought acrylic handles to Rebecca Dorris’s dumpster delight.”

Stuff:

• 10 Hefty® Ultra Flex Trash Bags (1.3 mm thick) 30 gallon with drawstring
• One size 13 (9mm) circular needle, 32”/80cm length or size to get gauge
• 4 stitch markers
• 2 acrylic horseshoe handles 7” x 8”/18 cm x 20.5 cm from M&J Trimming
• Tapestry needle.

Pattern includes a tutorial for making the plastic-bag yarn.
