A chunky, cosy sweater with a relaxed but carefully considered fit. This sweater uses a set in sleeve / drop shoulder hybrid construction, which provides a comfortable fit without excess bulk at the underarm. The construction details are highlighted with contrast garter ridges, although it could of course be knit in all one shade!

This sweater is named after the year my house was built, 1703, as this was the first design I finished after moving in. Shoutout to Alison for the name idea - if Levi’s can have 501s, then Lily can have a 1703

YARN: Chunky / bulky weight yarn, or equivalent using yarns held together.

If using a single strand, you will need approx. 777 (833; 890; 931; 980) 1008; 1076; 1136; 1224 metres / 850
(911; 974; 1018; 1072) 1102; 1177; 1243; 1339 yards in total.

If using two strands held together, you will need approximately this
quantity of each yarn.

Sample used two strands of Lily Kate Makes AXIS Worsted held together: 2 strands of shade Albedo for CC, and 1 strand Albedo + 1 strand Lightcone for MC. This yarn is 90% merino, 10% suri alpaca, 100m per 50g skein.

If using contrast edgings (as shown in sample), you will need approx: 686 (737; 791; 828; 871) 897; 962; 1019; 1104 metres / 748 (804; 863; 906; 952) 1005; 1069; 1156; 1238 yards of MC,

and 91 (96; 99; 103; 109) 110; 114; 117; 120 metres / 100 (105; 109; 112; 119) 121; 124; 128; 132 yards of CC.

GAUGE: 13.5 sts and 18 rows to 4 inches / 10 cm in stocking stitch, blocked. Suggested needle size 7mm.

This sweater designed to be worn with approx 6.5-8.5” / 17-22 cm positive ease for sizes 1-5, an approx. 4-6” / 10-15 cm positive ease for sizes 6-9.

Sample shown is a size 2 worn on a 34” bust with approx 7.5” positive ease.
