This is the pattern listing for the 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl Mystery Knit Along! Early Bird sales begin October 15th!

This year’s Mystery Knit is an engaging mosaic colorwork shawl inspired by the Greek myth of the Minotaur in celebration of this year’s Rose City Yarn Crawl theme - mythical creatures! Please note the mosaic colorwork portions of this mystery pattern are charted only.

Release Dates:

October 15, 2025: Pre-Clue Release with Early Bird preview swatch guide. Early Bird preview swatch guide ends October 22nd. Purchases made starting October 23rd will include the pre-clue.

January 14th: Clue 1
January 21st: Clue 2
January 28th: Clue 3
February 4th: Clue 4
February 11th: Clue 5

Be sure to purchase the pre-clue during our Early Bird week for a special pattern preview swatch guide! The preview swatch guide will help you get started on your mystery pattern swatch and give you a little hint at techniques to come in the pattern. Our early bird week starts October 15th and ends October 22nd.

This year’s mysteries are once again 5 clues with each clue releasing weekly for 5 weeks. We’ll kick off Clue 1 on Zoom with designer, Lis Smith of Old Salt Studios to get started together in January and again for a final wrap party in February.

The Zoom schedule and registration link will come with your pre-clue purchase. Registration for each Zoom meetup is required to join.

Clues will be delivered to your Ravelry library each week starting on January 14th, 2026.

The 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl will be March 5th - 8th, 2026.

How to Participate in the Mystery Along:

• Purchase the pattern when the Pre-Clue releases on Ravelry on Oct 15th. This will sign you up to get all the clues sent to your inbox when the Mystery Along officially starts in January.

• Get Ready for the Clues! The Pre-Clue release will have all the info you need to get the recommended yarn from one of the Rose City Yarn Crawl shops. If you purchase during our Early Bird week from Oct 15-22nd, you’ll also get a preview peek at the swatch guide and can start swatching.

• Register for one or all of our Zoom meetups with the Designers. Your purchase of the pattern will come with the schedule and registration links to join.

• Join the discussion on our Ravelry Group! There is a great community of knitters and crocheters sharing their projects, asking questions, helping each other and you can also get tips and help from the designers.

• Knit and Crochet along with us starting January 14th!
