#224 Tuesday's Cardi
When the weather gets chilly, I love to have a simple little everyday cardigan. But simple does not cut it when it comes to choosing my knitting projects or satisfying my individual sense of style!
So, I designed this one with lots of little design details to keep me happily knitting, with results that are very modern and yet classically wearable any day of the week.
The top-down design is a must for the seamless (except for the pockets and buttons!) finishing, and to allow some variation in sleeve or body length if the knitter desires.
A pretty lace panel adorns the back and draws the eye vertically (slimming!) and is echoed on the sleeve cuffs. The neckband, bottom hem, and button band are all worked in a knit-in Garter stitch.
The hem is gracefully curved to be lower in back using short rows. Knit this in a wear-with-everything neutral, like the heathered grey I chose, or an eye-catching bright color to lighten up any winter doldrums.
