This small scarf was knit with a single skein of soft and luxurious Traveler’s Delight DK from AILANN YARNS. The size is easy to alter, and the scarf could be knit with yarns of different weights and fibres; notes are provided in the instructions to help you do so. The ends of the scarf are knit in a small, diamond lace pattern, while the centre is a simple eyelet stripe. It is knit on a garter stitch background with a few plain stitches or rows on all four edges so it will lie flat without blocking, although blocking will certainly enhance the look of the lace.

This is an easy project. The techniques you will need to know, or learn, are:

  • cast on and bind off;
  • knit;
  • yo increase;
  • k2tog decrease;
  • ssk decrease.
