Pattern description from Knit.1, Summer 2007: “Strips of terra cotta circle the crown and brim of a sun hat and crisscross the maize base of a big beach tote. Both pieces, by Mary Nolfi, are accented with oversized buttons and are looped with Lion Brand Yarn’s ‘Cotton-Ease’ in an allover single-crochet pattern.”

Stuff:

• 2 skeins in #184 Terracotta and #186 Maize of Cotton-Ease by Lion Brand Yarn, 3½oz/100g skeins, each approx 207yd/189m (cotton/acrylic)
• Sizes G-6 and H-8 (4 and 5 mm) crochet hooks or size to get the gauge
• One ¾“/20mm round button
• 1”/2.5cm pinback (optional)
