#261 Chunky Cable Poncho
Like a beautifully tiered skirt, this tiered poncho is all about flattering drape as it surrounds you in cozy cabled warmth.
The poncho is fun to knit too, as it’s worked from side to side using short rows. The simple 12-row cable repeats keep things uncomplicated as you work wedges to create the poncho shape. Ribbed bottom, wide collar/turtleneck, and button bands are picked up and knit after enough wedges are completed. No seams.
A heathered gray, super soft alpaca and wool blend yarn is used here for an elegant and rustic appeal. Big buttons for closure allow you to wear the collar open or as a snuggly turtleneck.
Hip length still allows for arm movement while keeping the chill away.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: at bustline, buttoned: 54 ¼ (61 ½)“ 138 (156) cm. Length from neckline to bottom edge: 24 ½ (26)” 62 (66) cm.
