Pattern Description from Vogue Knitting, Fall 2007: “Cross your heart and hope to ply Betty Monroe’s diamond-dotted pullover, knit in ‘Julia’ from Nashua Handknits/Westminster Fibers. The focal crossover diamond-cable motif is worked in the round from the center out. The sleeves and ribbed borders are picked up and knit down.”

“Standard-fitting pullover with center square and added on ribbed sleeves, lower edge and collar.”

Materials:

  • 12 (12, 13, 15, 16) 1¾oz/50g skeins (each approx 93yd/85m) of Nashua Handknits/Westminster Fibers, Inc. Julia (wool/alpaca/mohair) in #6396 deep blue sea
  • One set (5) size 7 (4.5mm) double pointed needles (dpn) or size to obtain gauge
  • Size 7 (4.5mm) circular needle, one each 24”/60cm and 32”/80cm lengths
  • Stitch markers, st holders
  • Several yards waste yarn (in same weight as the garment)

Note: Pullover is worked from a central square that is worked in rounds, beg at the center. Then the sleeves, collar and lower edges are added onto the 4 sides of the square. For the best finish and fit of the garment, be sure to block in stages as directed in the instructions.
