You can use any yarn and your preferred hook for this pattern. I used Big Twist Value yarn, a medium (#4/aran) weight yarn and a US Size H-8/5 mm crochet hook. My version is about 4” (10 cm) in diameter and used approximately 30 yd (27.5 m) of yarn.
