Pattern Description from Vogue Knitting, Fall 2007: “Every scarlet woman needs a hoodie - in this case a delicate spun-silk hooded cardigan in an allover chevron stitch alternated with an eyelet band. Mari Lynn Patrick knit the body from side seam to side seam in Fiesta Yarns’ ‘La Luz,’ with the hood picked up and worked later.”

“Standard-fitting lace cardigan with hood worked in chevron lace horizontally on the body and length-wise on the sleeves.”

Knitted Measurements:

  • X-Small (Medium, Large)
  • Lower edge 28 (33, 35)“/71 (84, 89)cm
  • Bust (closed) 36 (41, 43)“/91.5 (104, 109)cm
  • Length 19¾ (20¾, 21¾)“/50 (52.5, 55)cm
  • Upper arm 12 (13¼, 14½)“/30.5 (33.5, 37)cm

Materials:

  • 8 (10, 12) 2oz/57g hanks (each approx 220yd/201m) of Fiesta Yarns La Luz (silk) in cabernet
  • One pair each sizes 3 and 5 (3.25 and 3.75mm) needle or size to obtain gauge
  • Six ½“ (12.5mm) ball buttons
  • Stitch holders

Notes:

  1. The sweater body is worked from side seam edge to side seam edge on the back and from side seam edge to center on the fronts.
  2. The sleeves are worked from the sleeve cuff to the top.

Note: The lower edge, due to the nature of the yarn and bind-off, is close fitting.
