This great sweater is another of the New Knitter Projects from Reynolds: pieces with the pattern written out in careful, hard-to-misinterpret detail for the tentative newbie. We love it. It is extremely easy to make, but not sloppy. The armholes and sleeve caps are shaped-- and this tailoring is explained in a very accessible, logical way. The lines are slimming and untrendy. This is an ideal casual sweater, indoors or outdoors, comfortable and drapey (look at the fluidity around the model’s right wrist!). Great on men or women, really.

The original Bonnie is not around any more, but it was a cotton/viscose tape that worked up to 15 sts to 4”/10cm on a 6.5mm/US10.5 in st st. Try a heavy worsted weight (12 ply) like Rowan Summer Tweed or whatever strikes your fancy-- just swatch and get gauge, aiming more for a drapier fabric than not.
