A Break in Tide Cowl is a bottom-up construction bandana cowl, featuring relaxing garter stitch complimented by sections of Fisherman’s rib and slip stitch variations. This cowl begins as a triangle shawl that is initially worked flat, then joined in the round and finished as a cowl.
This design begins with just a handful of stitches and increases along the ends until completion. Bind off occurs at the top edge. What looks like brioche in this cowl is actually a “fisherman’s rib”. There is no brioche knitting in this design.
Size
Approximately 28” / 71 cm neck circumference which will narrow to 23.5” / 60 cm x 23” / 58 cm length (before blocking) for “more fullness” version of this cowl.
For Part II (in the round section) of this cowl, you have the option between two amounts of fullness for the neck. 1 (2) / less (more).
The first option includes fewer total rounds worked resulting in less-fullness at the neck.
