This pattern was published as part of the Shephard’s ‘Film Star’ series in the 1930s.

The coat jumper is knitted in a fancy rib and has a contrasting collar in moss stitch which is tied in a bow. The sleeves can be full length or short.

The gauge is one pattern to an inch. 11 ounces of the main colour are required, and 1 oz of the contrast. The original colours suggested are rose tan and navy. Also required are 7 buttons and a press stud (which holds the collar in place)

The model on the cover of the pattern is Isobel Jeans (16 September 1891 – 4 September 1985) an English stage and film actress known for her roles in several Alfred Hitchcock films and her portrayal of Aunt Alicia in the 1958 musical film Gigi, among others.
