A Knot in Time Cowl
A Knot in Time Cowl is a mesmerising modern take on lace inspired by cable knitting.
This cowl uses 400m (438 yards) of lace weight yarn.
The pattern includes a chart for the lace work. The even rows of the lace is worked in plain knit. The lace stitches involved include: yarn over, k2tog, ssk, sl1-k2tog-psso, knit through back loop.
It is knitted in the round with a British moss stitch (seed stitch) border along the bottom (cast on) and top (cast off) edges.
The finished size after blocking is height: 8.5” (21.5cm) by width circumference: 29” (73.5cm). The cowl can be made larger or smaller by completing less or more repeats of the chart.
The photographed sample was knit with 3.00mm (2.5US) 24” (60cm) circular needles and 1 skein of Malabrigo, (100% merino wool), 50 grams/470 yards (430 meters) in Frank Ochre (035); however, there are many other wonderful colours.
Enjoy and happy knitting!
