A little Vino anyone
My new “A little vino anyone” top was named for the delicious yarn color, which is a beautiful wine red. The top is knitted in one piece. It starts with the bottom front edge, up to the neckline and then moves down to the bottom edge of the back side.
The finishing is at a bare minimum. I know, very cool!
The sides are mostly left open as shown, with an option to close them as much as you prefer.
A fun stitch pattern enhances the middle in front and back, made up of zig zags, stripes, triangles and easy going garter stitches.
with a chart for the middle and back detail.
For bust sizes: 34/36”, 38/40”, 42/44”, 46/48”, 50/52”.
Yarn
As shown I used Linen, a fingering weight yarn by Yarnz2go in a blend of linen and viscose. The yarn is held double throughout this project, creating a sport weight. The texture and drape is wonderful.
192 yards a skein, 6/6/7/7/8 skeins used.
Knit kits are available at www.yarnz2go.com
Alternatively use a sport weight yarn about 585/585/680/680/775 yards.
Notions used
US 10 (6 mm) circular needle 36” (91 cm) in length.
2 stitch markers
Darning needle for finishing
Gauge
13 sts and 18 rows in 4” of Garter stitch.
Do a swatch to see what needle size gives you the correct gauge and therefore proper fit, as I am a loose knitter and you may not be.
Techniques used
Knitting and purling, binding off, casting on again for neckline, stretchy bind off, weaving in ends, minimal seaming and optional blocking.
Enjoy your new project and share pics when you knit one. On social media sites share with hashtag #alittlevinoanyonetop.
Thanks a bunch! Petra
