A Norwegian Barnelue to Knit

Susan Strawn’s knitted cap (en lue) for a child (et barn) will delight the younger set. The dancing couple plus the stripes and tiny geometric patterns are traditional Norwegian motifs.
Difficulty Easy
Finished Size 16.5” circumference and 8.75” tall.
Yarn Dale Baby Ull (100% superwash merino wool; 180 yd/1.75 oz): #0083 charcoal heather (MC), #0010 white (CC1), and #3718 tomato red (CC2), 1 ball each.
Needles Sizes 2 (2.75mm): 16” circular and set of double-pointed. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers; tapestry needle.
Gauge 29 sts and 39 rows = 4” in charted patt.
Note This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up.
