A Rose of Kindness
This pattern was created to help fund ATOR trips. These projects are through out Europe, however mostly centered in Germany and Poland.
Jews, Protestants, and Catholics from many countries, gathering together to show kindness to each other through concerts, conferences, visiting death camps together, reciting kaddish together, and handing out THOUSANDS of roses in unexpected places like the streets of Warsaw, Oswiecim, Nuremberg, Berlin to name a few.
Spring 2013 ATOR was asked to host a conference in Ireland. We worked on both sides of the Peace Wall, on the Falls Road and on the Shankill.
All proceeds go directly to ATOR projects. ATOR has ben to: Northern Ireland, Warsaw, Berlin, Munich, Krakow, Salzburg, Mauthausen, Dachau, Prostyn, Budapest…and many other places.
When the team finished 10 days of A Tour Of Roses in Berlin October 2013. We gave 5000 beautiful roses to people on the streets in Berlin.
“In the evening after the concert at Jerusalemgemeinde a German woman came up to me and asked if I would forgive her for what her people did to mine. It was not the first time on this trip. I know it is not given to me to forgive in any direct way, but to release them from any judgement or prejudice on my part, and to love and bless them, that they might come up from under the shadow of shame… It has been an honor and privilege to lead this team. “ -Sally Klein O’Connor
Funds are now being raised for ATOR Spring of 2021.
ATOR was mentioned in the article “Sock Knitters of Sobibor” in the Spring 2013 issue of Knitting Traditions.
