A Single Skein of Hope is a simple scarf designed for soothing and contemplative knitting. Worked in garter stitch with a rib accent (either single or double rib) on each end and a slip stitch edging. Requires one skein (about 190 yards) of worsted weight yarn.

Intolerance, political angst, threats of deportations, trade wars, tariffs. It’s just crazy times. And scary times. My goodness…is there any good news left? There must be… somewhere. I hope. I pray that we will come together and help one another. I still believe that there is more goodness in the world than evil. We can learn from our past mistakes. Do what we can, let our voices be heard. And when we cannot “do” anymore, we can knit. To reinforce our faith in humanity. To heal ourselves, one stitch at a time. Make A Single Skein of Hope for yourself. Make another for someone who could also use a little hope. Because we all can use a bit of hope.
