My sister-in-law suggested that I make some clothes for my nephew’s Ken doll. Since Fritz is only three, I thought it would be nice to make something that didn’t use tiny snaps or buttons, but I couldn’t find anything. (Well, there’s the Ornamental Mini Sweater, but it’s not available anymore.) So, I designed this one.

It’s a top-down, raglan-style sweater, with a rolled collar, cuffs, and hem (which could all easily be changed to ribbing, or some other edging). It takes less than 75 yards of fingering yarn, so it’s great for the odds and ends you have left after making a pair of socks. You can do it in stripes, or add a Fair Isle band around the chest … mix it up however you like! And if you don’t know someone who needs doll clothes, it can make a great ornament, or a gift tag, too!
