A Sweater to Knit by Hand or Machine
This pattern accompanies an article about basic machine knitting on the Bond or Singer Hobby knitting machines. The article shows how the machine works and also gives instructions for the cables and lace pattern. The pattern is also given for size 7 needles; the suggested keyplate for the Bond is number 2, for the Hobby st size 6.
There are also two variations, a simpler vertical lace and a more complex cables-and-lace version.
The pattern itself is vaguely reminiscent of 40s styling.
